As a lot of you know I spend half my week in the Southern Tablelands where I devote my time to working on a weekender cabin at my little bush block.  Because it is so crisp down there – even now the mornings are chilly – I get to wear a favourite thing after work:  my apres ski boots, pictured here.

I bought these handsome Italian boots in Snowmass Colorado where I was unbelievably fortunate to visit and where I learnt to ski.  I did a course there called Snow Magic which was designed to teach adult beginners to ski in three days.  In my class we had just a couple of women.  The tutor, a friendly middle aged guy, observed that while our skiing might never be the fastest we were by far the most graceful of his students.  It was a great experience and I think of it very fondly whenever I wear these boots.
